Part of the Bushman team of reporters since February of 1990, Gary was first certified as a Stenomask reporter in March of 1976 by the U.S. Marine Corps. He was subsequently certified as a Stenotype machine reporter in July of 1979 for General and Special Court-martials upon completion of the San Diego College of Business, San Diego, California. He was a reporter for the Department of Defense Commission on the Beirut International Airport Terrorist Act in 1983, and reported only officer misconduct cases from 1984 to 1988 at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego. He received a temporary certificate from the State of Arkansas in December, 1989, and was certified in April, 1990. He is a member of the National Court Reporters Association and served as Secretary of the Arkansas Court Reporters Association for two years.
