Valarie originates from Fort Worth, Texas, where she graduated from the Iverson Institute of Court Reporting and became a Certified Shorthand Reporter for the State of Texas in 1987. Once certified, she began her reporting career as a freelance reporter in Fort Worth, reporting depositions as well as regularly working for the federal and state courts in Dallas and Tarrant counties as a substitute court reporter while holding various offices of the Tarrant County Court Reporters Association. Valarie moved to Arkansas in 1996 and immediately joined the Bushman team and became a Certified Court Reporter for the State of Arkansas. Valarie is certified in Texas, Arkansas, and is a Registered Professional Reporter issued by the National Court Reporters Association. She is a member of the Arkansas Court Reporters Association and the National Court Reporters Association.
